Welcome to Viroqua
For those of you new to the Viroqua area, here are a bunch of links to help you plan your trip --- outside of potentially watching 15 baseball games, of course!
On Saturday mornings in the summer, the Viroqua Farmers Market takes place at the Western Technical College parking lot in downtown Viroqua. There is a lot of organic food and Amish goods.
If you're looking for a park to hang out for awhile to have a picnic or to burn off the energy of kids there are several Viroqua City Parks to choose from. There is a playground set for younger kids at the Park Bowl. Eckhart Park has picnic shelters and a lot of playground equipment. It's just up the left field hill from the Park Bowl. There's a (pretty steep) paved walking path between the cement bleachers and the concession stand, or you can trek up the left field hill, or drive around town and park in the Decker Street parking lot.
And if that's not enough, there are many other attractions around the greater Viroqua and Westby area.
The Viroqua Events Calendar has lots more info on upcoming events. The next major events in town are Wild West Days, August 16, 17, 18 2013. There are a lot western events and re-enactments at Wild West Days. The Hog Wrasslin alone is well worth the trip!
Then we have a 3 day concert, Aug 22-24, Jammin for Vets. Then in mid-September, we have the last County Fair of the year in Wisconsin. This year, it's Wed. Sept. 11 thru Sunday Sept. 15.
Have fun and welcome to Viroqua!
